Daniel B. Kimball, Jr., MD, FACP

Dr. Kimball

It is a difficult task to try to briefly sum up Dan’s service to the community. As you all know, he seems to have an unlimited source of energy. Perhaps the most immediate aspect that surfaces is his continued vision and commitment to the weekly radio talk show “Health Talk”. As its founder, he has given endless hours since its inception, and continues to organize programs, recruit guests and host programs for the benefit of the community. Listeners in Berks County have come to know and trust Dr. Dan Kimball over the air waves.

Dan’s has also given his time and energy to many professional organizations including: President of the State Board of Medicine, a board member for 8 years on the Composite Committee of the National Board of Medical Examiners, he represented PA Board of Medicine at the National Federation of State Boards of Medicine, as well as serving as a Delegate to the AMA and BCMS. Dan also volunteers in the BCMS office every Friday that he’s in town.

Aside from his multitude of professional commitments, Dan is heavily involved in volunteer leadership within the community. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Miller Keystone Memorial Blood Center, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Threshold Rehabilitation Services in Reading. Dan also is a trained Stephen Leader and Stephen Minister at Atonement Lutheran Church in Wyomissing. He has had a long-standing professional interest in the field of medical ethics and is a frequent lecturer on the topic of Advance Directives and Organ/Tissue Donation. Dan also serves as the Medical Director for Hospice St. John of Berks County.

His most recent area of professional interest is applying mediation as an effective alternative in dispute resolution, and volunteers as a pro bono Mediator for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission office in Philadelphia.
