landscape1-150x150Doctor’s Grove was established in the late 1970’s by the Berks County Medical Society Alliance. It was dedicated in 1981 on Doctor’s Day, to honor or remember Berks County Physicians and their families. The Grove is located by the Berks County Heritage Center behind Saint Joseph’s Hospital (near the red covered bridge on the walking trail). Currently there are around 80 maple trees planted at the site.

The Berks County Medical Society Alliance held a Doctor’s Grove Planting Ceremony in the Spring of 2016. Trees were dedicated in honor, appreciation, and memory of many physicians that practiced in Berks County. treeTrees were planted and an engraved leaf on the brass “Tree of Life” plaque located in the Medical Society’s Office were presented.  All contributions are listed in the Medical Record.
